The zombies are coming!
In association with the International Cycling Film Festival (ICFF), brace yourself for a feature length evening of specially selected short cycling films under the headline “The zombies are coming”. Expect only the darkest, scariest, most suspenseful, apocalyptical, and bloodthirsty bicycle films of recent years to be shown. A special programme for the strongest cyclist nerves! (Cert PG).
The ICFF showcases films that have the bicycle as their theme, and takes place annually at six permanent venues in Germany, Poland, Kosovo, and the Netherlands, as well as numerous other guest screenings throughout Europe. The ICFF has presented more than 400 bicycle films over the course of its history, and a look at the archive of past programmes shows the socio-political component of the festival.
Many film contributions refer to the ecological advantages of the bicycle – a topic that is indispensable at a festival of bicycle culture. However, the bicycle is not only a means of transport, but also a way of life, a piece of sports equipment, and a workplace. This diversity is reflected in the various social, emancipatory (“Riding a bike is a feminist issue”), developmental, sporting, and artistic (“Tall bike is punk”; “self-destruction”; “ghetto love”) perspectives that are opened up with the International Cycling Film Festival.
