Building a Cycling Community with Queens of Pain CC

It began with a simple exchange between two strangers on Instagram. Over the past three years, Adna and Ruby have been successfully growing one of Edinburgh’s most popular cycling communities.

On a mission to increase diversity within cycling, Queens of Pain are a community that creates space for people to meet, build confidence, grow and go off on their own adventures, increasing diverse representation in the outdoors industry. During this talk, Ruby will introduce you to the Queens of Pain story; she will discuss what makes a welcoming and flourishing community, and what it takes to keep it thriving.

On the night, Queens of Pain will be joined by Edinburgh School of Rocks and Belles on Bikes, who will describe their experiences of building a cycling community. School of Rocks has groups across the UK and describes itself as a woman-led community offering a toolkit to empower everyone to find joy in off-road cycling. Belles on Bikes is a local Edinburgh group that aims to support women to get cycling together in a friendly, inclusive and relaxed environment.

Join us at Projektride, who will be sharing their space with us and providing some refreshments on the night.
