The Power of Food Festival led rides
For The Power of Food Festival’s 4th edition, is please join with the Edinburgh Festival of Cycling to offer you two guided cycle rides of Edinburgh’s community food gardens. These will be expertly led by our Sustrans partners who will take you on a tour of beautiful gardens around the city, in a friendly and inclusive group.
The Power of Food Festival is an entirely free weekend event when community food gardens in and around Edinburgh throw their gates open and invite the general public to come and explore, hear their stories, be inspired and entertained. Since the launch in 2015, 40 gardens have participated in the Festival. Take a peek at the video and past programmes on the website…
The Sustrans led rides are as far as possible off-road, on the Edinburgh cycle path network, and along Edinburgh’s designated Quiet Routes. They are family friendly; all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or carer.
Participants must bring a roadworthy bike & suitable clothes for the weather.
Rides are free but spaces are limited, booking required. There are two rides a day:
- Haymarket to Granton, 10:15 – 16:00
- Leith to Portobello, 11.30 – 16:00
