HSBC Breeze bike ride for women: Russell Road to Portobello and Leith
HSBC Breeze is a programme of free, volunteer-led bike rides for women which runs across the UK. We aim to encourage and support more women to get on their bike and ride, or to ride more. Breeze rides are relaxed, friendly and sociable and nobody is ever left behind.
Starting from Russell road zig-zags we will head into town and through the Meadows to the Innocent Tunnel. We will follow cycle paths and roads (a busier stretch) down to Joppa and towards Portobello where we will stop for coffee and refreshments.
We will then head past the cat and dog home and across Leith Links before returning to Russell Road on cycle paths. This ride is suitable for hybrid bikes, and if you are confident on cobblestones, a road bike is also suitable. This is a steady paced ride but you may find it challenging if you haven’t tackled this distance (16 miles) before.
