HSBC Breeze bike ride for women: Corstorphine to the Water of Leith Visitor Centre

HSBC Breeze is a programme of free, volunteer-led bike rides for women which runs across the UK. We aim to encourage and support more women to get on their bike and ride, or to ride more. Breeze rides are relaxed, friendly and sociable and nobody is ever left behind.

This is a gentle cycle on quiet roads and cycle paths and is suitable for novice cyclists and those who do not feel overly confident. Confident cyclists who just like to chat are also more than welcome! Starting at 9:15am opposite Corstorphine Primary School and returning to the same point by 11:30am at the latest, this ride is ideal for those with children to drop off and pick up at local schools or nurseries!

This is a lovely scenic route from St Margaret’s Park in Corstorphine to the Water of Leith Visitor Centre in Slateford. The route is largely on traffic free paths, with a few quiet roads. A good stretch of the route is on the beautiful Water of Leith path. We will also ride through Saughton Park and see how the refurbishment work is coming on there.

Much of the route is traffic free. This route is suitable for all bikes, although some sections may be slightly muddy and contain loose materials. Road bikes will get through, but may get muddy if the weather has been wet!

We will stop when we get to the Water of Leith Visitor Centre for a quick cuppa, then return to Corstorphine along the same route.

Please bring along money for the cafe stop.

First-timers welcome! Please bring your own bike. Booking essential.
