Edinburgh World Naked Bike Ride 2019
The event is intended to highlight the vulnerability of cyclists in traffic. Hence, the option of minimal clothing or nudity and why the event is held on public roads. A cyclist might as well be naked in traffic. It would be pointless to hold it other than on the public highway.
The World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is intended as a protest against oil dependency, in favour of alternative means of transport. There is also a subtext of body positivism.
